McCain making sense
Behold! John McCain actually made sense for once when he offered his two cents in opposition of the automakers’ bailout.
George W. Bush has approved the bailout of $17 billion this morning. Barack Obama is supporting the bailout and the President’s decision. It’s strange that McCain would disagree with Bush and Obama, maybe he’s just having an “opposites” day.

Cheney approved CIA’s torture tactics
“Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that he was directly involved in approving severe interrogation methods used by the CIA, and that the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, should remain open indefinitely.” – Greg Miller, LA Times

Pinpointing the failure of a donkey (Video)
Keith Olbermann nicely summarizes the major failures of George W. Bush over the last 8 years in this short five-minute clip*!
(*Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the video of Mr. Bush’s small and medium-sized failures, as such a video would last for 43 days, 16 hours and 52 minutes, and is impossible to upload to even the biggest server in the world.)

A moral decree from the vatican’t
“The Vatican issued the most authoritative and sweeping document on bioethical issues in 20 years on Friday, taking into account recent developments in biomedical technology and reinforcing the church’s opposition to in vitro fertilization, human cloning, genetic testing on embryos before implantation and embryonic stem cell research,” report Povoledo and Goodstein of the NY Times.
In case you need yet another organisation to give you moral advice and dictate your personal life decisions (as if mom and dad weren’t enough), read about the Vatican’s decree after the break!
The center-right confusion
Christopher Beam is just as curious as I am to find out what in the world does “center-right” mean when used to describe America. Who gets to decide whether America is left or right, and why can’t it be both?
In his article, Center-What?, Mr. Beam debates that the definition of center-right has no basis nor meaning, and America is therefore as undefined as ever.

No bailout without hybrid cars!
Amid the $35 billion bailout pleas from Congress this week, Time’s Bill Saporito makes a case for the Big 3 CEO’s jetsetting ways and explains exactly why they deserve to fly private jets to their destinations.

How about we DON’T flush billions down the toilet?
Michael Moore has outlined a plan that would solve the problem of the Big 3, but will Congress listen to him or the other millions of people who are against throwing billions into the wind?
We all know what would happen if Congress would give $25 billion $34 billion to Ford, GM and Chrysler, the same thing that happened to Wall Street — massive layoffs of thousands of people, a yo-yo stock market, a continuing recession.
Read further to learn about Moore’s plan to save the Big 3 (no, not by giving them billions of taxpayers’ money), and in turn save our economy, jobs, and the environment.
Can’t she just go away?
There’s been speculation that Sarah Palin may run for the presidency in 2012. But if she’s learned anything from the last (disasterous) time she ran for a national office seat, then she will work on her flimsy resume first (either as a governor or a senator).
The current Republican senator from Alaska, Lisa Murkowski warns Palin against attempting to steal the seat from under her. This just may turn into a cat fight and I’d love to see Murkowski crush Palin. (Any chance it could be: three strickes and Sarah is out?)
Read more about the possible Murkowski-Palin head to head in 2010.

Wouldn’t it be fun if Bush resigned tomorrow?
I’m sure many of us have wondered what it would be like if Bush quit, or resigned, or was impeached. NY Times writer, Gail Collins has been daydreaming of the day that George W. Bush quits, and wouldn’t it be the best present to America for the holiday season?
Seriously, what would happen? Â Read the funny and wishful article by Ms. Collins after the break!
