Good choice of topic, but the Thom Hartmann and Young Turks segments made it clear how much some adults have to learn about, say, history. I couldn’t take the meandering, brainless Turks segment. Why do you excerpt them so often? Just cos’ they named you Turk of the Week, Jay, that doesn’t mean their work is the best of the left. Please be a little pickier.

Rob, I think you’ve got your logic a little backwards. I excerpt TYT because I like them and my support of their show leads to them thanking me, not the other way around.

OK, I can accept that you genuinely like them, and should not have implied that you only include them because they recognized you. (It wouldn’t make chronological sense anyway, because you’ve been including them regularly for the three months I’ve been listening). I’m just offering feedback.

I was disposed to like the Young Turks, and always try to appreciate their segments on BOTL. Most of the time, though, I lose patience and skip them. Usually their idea of satire is to say that people who disagree with them must be stupid or crazy. And to say it again. And again. It reminds me of the kind of thing that passes for satire on the right. I get tired of it in a hurry.

So, just sayin’. Maybe you could do better. Or maybe they could if they tried.
