A Bittersweet Victory

My girlfriend and I jumped up and down with joy when it became clear that Obama was going to be our next president. However the night was bittersweet for gays and lesbians across the US.

Finally, we democrats are not on the losing team.  Not only did we win the presidency, but we won a majority in the house and senate!  I was proud that Alan Grayson beat out Ric Keller for congress here in Orange county Florida.   Some of you may remember that the homophobic Keller had made it into office last election cycle with the help from Dick Cheney who raised $250,000 for the candidate.

But Alas those tears of joy turned into anger and frustration. From California to Florida and few states in-between the GLBT community was theoretically given the middle finger.
