Podcast Awards in full swing! Go Vote!

Happy weekend everyone!

Just wanted to give a little reminder that the Podcast Awards are here and that the Best of the Left isn’t just going to vote for itself in the political category you know. So let’s get out there and cast 15 of the 16 most important votes possible between now and November 6th. The 16th most important vote being the one for that guy who said John McCain was being ‘erratic’. Boy did they nail it with that one!

You know, while you’re there you should really check out some of the other categories for some good shows. I particularly like:

1. This American Life (duh) from the Cultural/Arts category

2. The Rest of Everest from the Video category

3. Radio Lab from the Technology and Science  category (don’t miss this one, really! I love it!)

and just for fun 4. Betty in the Sky with a Suitcase from the Travel category

Some of your favorite shows in the podcast awards? Have a favorite show that’s not in the podcast awards? Let us all know about them in the comments!

Thanks for your support,

Jay!

Watch Al Gore in live webcast

So, there’s two organization that are really worth knowing about. The first is Al Gore’s most recent publicity machine that’s being used as the public face of his efforts to fight global warming and that WeCanSolveIt.org, there’s a pretty decent chance you’ve seen some of their commercials.

The other is the Energy Action Coalition. This is a youth-run organization dedicated to engaging students in the political process to demand a clean and just energy future. Find out more about them at EnergyActionCoalition.org, they’re good people.

So this leads to the fact that these two great groups are coming together when Al Gore conducts a live webcast for the PowerVote campaign. PowerVote is the EAC Get-Out-The-Vote campaign they’re running with their goal set at getting 1 million youth to pledge to vote for clean energy this November.

Even if you’ve never actually heard of these groups and you’re not a college student you should still be interested for these three reasons: 1.Al Gore 2.global warming and 3.Al Gore & other people coming together to try and do something about global warming.

Sign up to watch the live webcast on Oct. 29th at 8pm EST.
