Volunteer!
Want to support the show some way other than financially? Here’s your chance! And as part of the launch of this more fleshed-out volunteer program I plan on thanking those who sign up in the show just to make sure you all know how appreciated you are!
As you might imagine, there’s a decent amount of fairly unglamorous work that goes into making each episode of Best of the Left. Obviously this work is utterly critical to the show but the more time I personally spend on all of that stuff, the less time I have to think about how to make the show better in all kinds of ways. So, what I’ve done is created a few processes that will allow you to easily help out with some of this work in your spare time to support the show and help make it better. It’s all pretty easy stuff that anyone can do, so please take a moment to check it out and then drop me a line if you’re interested in helping.
Sending in clips, not just random clips you have to find on your own, specific one’s that I make very easy to find.
Daily Show and Colbert: If you’re interested in volunteering to clip segments from The Daily Show and The Colbert Report please take a look at this page of details on the program and then drop me an email to let me know you’re interested.
The Young Turks, Thom Hartmann, Sam Seder, etc. (All shows found on YouTube): If you regularly watch political clips on YouTube then you’re a perfect candidate to download, organize and send in clips to the show from YouTube! If that sounds interesting check out this page of details for that program.
Democracy Now!, Grit Radio, TheRealNews.com: If you’re interested in volunteering to clip segments, or simply alert me to segments found in these sources or anywhere else please see this page of details.
(No help needed at the moment) Who’s up for data entry!? OK, this is, by far, the easiest project that I need help with. I have a project related to the member’s only raw feeds that you’ve heard so much about that basically amounts to data entry. It’s not that exactly, but it’s pretty similar. It’s the sort of thing you could do mindlessly while watching an hour of your favorite drama (that’s what I usually do). If that sounds like something you’d be interested in just drop me a line and I’ll give you the inside scoop. Just remember, it’s not glamorous but it would be INCREDIBLY appreciated!
Send in your own clips if you like. If you would like to send in audio clips but don’t know how to cut up segments from your favorite shows, check out our VIDEO TUTORIALS for getting clips using Audacity (for Windows) and GarageBand (For Mac). Please send your clip as an attachment to Jay[at]BestOfTheLeft[dot]com.
