Can’t she just go away?

There’s been speculation that Sarah Palin may run for the presidency in 2012. But if she’s learned anything from the last (disasterous) time she ran for a national office seat, then she will work on her flimsy resume first (either as a governor or a senator).

The current Republican senator from Alaska, Lisa Murkowski warns Palin against attempting to steal the seat from under her. This just may turn into a cat fight and I’d love to see Murkowski crush Palin. (Any chance it could be: three strickes and Sarah is out?)

Read more about the possible Murkowski-Palin head to head in 2010.

Killing turkeys is ‘fun’! (Video)

Once again Sarah Palin delivers comedic gold to the people of Saturday Night Live on a silver platter. Watch Sarah being interviewed about her preparations for Thanksgiving Day while turkeys are slaughtered in the background.

It’s like she’s not even trying to be conscious of her surrounding or what she’s talking about. Sarah’s just happy to be in front of the camera. (Brace yourself if you’ve just had breakfast.)

No, YOU’RE stupid!

There’s at least one person who is willing to publicly admit she thinks Sarah Palin is a smart, feminist mom.

Read a few excerpts from Camille Paglia’s “Obama Surfs Through” article, in which she admits “she still [likes] Palin” and those who think Palin is dumb are themselves “the stupid ones.”

Vote, because you CAN!

A dirty fight is about the only hope the Republicans have left to win the November 4th election. And so the dirt is coming from every corner.

The last few days and weeks the GOP has stepped up its strategy to win, no matter what. The lies are spreading quickly, hitting the newsstands first. Almost daily there’s a story about the Muslim Barack, the evil socialism that he’s trying to spread, and how terrible life would be if the wealth was shared a little more, making it easier for the lazy, no-good, poor Americans to pay the rent and pay for their children’s tuition.

As if attack ads weren’t enough, the votes of many legitimate US citizens may be thrown out yet again. Why? Because of their race, party preference, class, failure to provide state issued IDs, or simply, just because. The GOP is cut-throat when it comes to the election. I doubt they will play nice this time around.

Read all about the Republican strategy to “block the vote” below. And on November 4th, please, go out and vote, because it matters!

Vlad and Boris’ great adventures, doggone it! (Video)

Sarah Palin probably doesn’t realize this, but Russia is watching her too. They can’t not, it’s just too funny to see her stumble over questions 3rd graders ask.

Vlad and Boris wrote a love song for Sarah! My favourite part is when they sing “you betcha, doggone it.” :-)

Of false promises and empty suits

There have been numerous videos made and many folksy songs written about McCain and Palin and their oh-so-crazy world. And now there’s a silly, but true, poem by Bruce Tenenbaum of the Huffington Post.

Read ahead for Bruce’s poem (don’t worry, it’s pretty short)!

Newborn takes one for the team

There’s simply no excuse for the actions of the man who named his newborn daughter Sarah McCain Palin.

That’s all, I’m speechless. Read more after the break!

What Sarah did.

My father taught me two things: 4 keys to self-defense and to never trust anyone who says “Trust me.” I think that was some of the best advice that I follow to this day. I never have and never will believe a single thing John McCain or Sarah Palin say. One keeps calling everyone his “friend,” and the other blatantly lies through her teeth with a smile when she says “I have nothing to hide.”

Please, who do they take us for? The “My Friend” thing is just a facade that will last until November 4th. This coutry has suffered long enough by blindly following a leader begging for trust and faith in the government’s ability to improve the country. We’re not so naive as to believe Mrs. Palin’s innocense based solely on her word either, she is a politician after all. Naturally, I wasn’t shocked when the probe into the Troopergate scandal found Mrs. Palin abused power, an “ethical violation”.

FYI, ladies: If you don’t hunt moose, you’re not a real woman!

How many women you know have ever been hunting? And how many of them actually shot an animal?

I don’t know about you, but I am not a hunter, nor do I know any female hunters. And I certainly do not support hunting. Does that make me a fake woman?

The latest snub by Vice-Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin is directed at all womenkind.  Mrs. Palin proudly debuted her newest fashion accessory upon her arrival in Allentown, PA. She proudly displayed the phrase “Real Women Hunt Moose” on the front of her canvas bag.

Have a look at the photos from The Huffington Post and let me know what you think!

The gloves came off, so will the masks.

Jeff Yang of Salon.com is convinced Sarah Palin is the new and slightly upgraded version of George W. Bush. In “Sarah Palin’s real soul mate,” Yang lists the similarities between the double threat’s beliefs, opinions and political backgrounds. After suffering from nearly 8 years of President Bush’s policy, seeing Mrs. Palin’s speeches and debates, and after reading the article, it’s difficult to disagree.

Palin and Bush are both equally stubborn in their religious and political beliefs, while they ignore the media that only wishes to shine some light into the dark corners of their closed minds. But if the McCain – Palin ticket were to be elected, Universe forbid, would they be worse or just as bad as Mr. Bush?

Character Assassination Attempts?

After Sarah Palin revealed shocking accusations that Barack Obama may be a “domestic terrorist,” a wave of angered threats from the croud erupted. Just how easy is it to convince the Republican ticket supporters that the left is participating in deep, dark deeds? Apparently, as easy as presenting one’s parenting experience and a couple of years in office as proof of ability to govern a country.

The scariest part is that some people may take her statement as a truthful fact and act on it in a dangerous manner. Following are the excerpts from “Is Palin Trying To Incite Violence Against Obama?” by Jeffrey Feldman. Read further!

The Palin Problem

Our very first ever non-podcast-related blog post here at Best of the Left comes to us from the right wing equivalent of the Huffington Post. Kathleen Parker, a stalwart conservative columnist and frequent blogger at Townhall.com, spent the first month after Sarah Palin’s nomination defending her non-credentials and accusing her critics of sexism.

Well, that tune has changed in the wake of Palin’s recent set of major interviews that showed her to be the moron that she is. Ms. Parker has written an article stating in no uncertain terms that Sarah Palin is a problem for the McCain campaign and should take herself out of the race. Delicious!
